Butches who like other Butches!

Yep. that's the topic....I am a huge fan of reading. Losing myself in a fantasy world for a few hunderd or thousand pages. It helps relax me, keep my imagination fresh, and remind me that dreams do come true.

On the flipside, it is also a wonderful way to educate myself, feed my curicosity, venture into the lives of others, and plan.

When it comes to what I read, it is diverse...and somewhat unpredictable. Mostly because I am willing to read anything put in my hands. People love to test this, and it has proven to be something that I love.

Do you read for pleasure? When you do what do you tend to prefer? Reading anything now?

While we are at it, would you recomend it? what was the first book you read that made you fall in love with reading?

Right now I am reading Lisey's Story by Stephen King..I am a HUGE fan of his...so I would generaly recomend anything he has done...But I am also in the Twighlight series, a guilty pleasure of mine...

I LOVE to read!! Novels, fiction, non-fiction, whatever. I also have varied tatses and am prone to re-read books that I particularly enjoy.

I can't say that I enjoy reading *anything* because I have to motivate myself to read text books for school, but once I am interested in a topic I really DEVOUR the pages.

Currently I am re-reading 'Good Omens' by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman... awesome book! I was turned on to Terry Pratchett a few years back and have read everything he has written with very few exceptions (mostly because I haven't got a hold of them).

I guess I am a bit of a bore seeing that I prefer a good book to going out to a nightclub... but loud just isn't my thing.

Happy reading!

Terry Pratchett is my one of my favorite authors. I have read of his books. That he has Alzheimer's and won't write another novel is so tragic.Ivan Coyote is another favorite, I tend to hide in his stories on bad days. I want to get his cd's next. I read whatever I come across, love lots of history, but after so much required reading I'm no longer a bookaholic.

I nearly cried when I heard about Terry last year. Such an amazing mind!

I also enjoy Ivan Coyote.

Required reading did squelch my bookworminess somewhat, but I still go on literary benders every now and again.

American Gods by Neil Gaiman. It was a great book. I am searching my son's bookshelves to reread it. I like Clive Cusslertoo, but loaned half of my collection to my brother. When I go to look for an old favorite it's always the one I wanted to reread that he took. I have a .99 a book Goodwill store nearby, but not too many people let go of his books. I guess I should breakdown and start reading Angels and Demons this week. I'm stupidly stubborn about not wanting to read the latest top 10.

i love reading, my fav is stephen king..its basically all i read. have you read the dark tower series by him? im currently re-reading it, can't get enough. How do you feel about his books that have been made into movies? I'm always disappointed cuz the books are always so much better :/

Right now I am working on two of his books, 1 is the 2nd in the Dark Tower series. I had tried reading it before but it bored me and my gf got me to try again. So glad she did! You know, his movies that people didn't were his books are great..(Stand By Me) but they REALLY drop the ball on the others. I love that he gets a cameo in all of them, but other than that, I always feel that they robbed my imagination and didn't do the books justice. What did you think of "IT"? I am STILL afraid of clowns since reading the book at 10!

lol im glad ur giving the dark tower a second try :) .. as for IT, its a funny story, my friend and i rented it and accidently watched the 2nd part before the 1st part... we were so confused untill we put the 2nd part in and it was really the first lol. idk why they put starting credits on both parts :/ ah well, never saw it again after that tho
