Butches who like other Butches!

Yep. that's the topic....I am a huge fan of reading. Losing myself in a fantasy world for a few hunderd or thousand pages. It helps relax me, keep my imagination fresh, and remind me that dreams do come true.

On the flipside, it is also a wonderful way to educate myself, feed my curicosity, venture into the lives of others, and plan.

When it comes to what I read, it is diverse...and somewhat unpredictable. Mostly because I am willing to read anything put in my hands. People love to test this, and it has proven to be something that I love.

Do you read for pleasure? When you do what do you tend to prefer? Reading anything now?

While we are at it, would you recomend it? what was the first book you read that made you fall in love with reading?

Right now I am reading Lisey's Story by Stephen King..I am a HUGE fan of his...so I would generaly recomend anything he has done...But I am also in the Twighlight series, a guilty pleasure of mine...

It's cool to see what others like to read. I haven't gotten to read for pleasure much in the last few years--I've mostly just been reading textbooks. But I have a bit more time to read lately. I'm currently reading Orlando by Virginia Woolf. I got the book at a GLBT rummage sale fairly recently.

It's a pretty good story so far. I like reading classic stuff like this. Have been too busy to read for a couple of nights, so it's going a bit slow.

I finally took some advice and signed into the goodreads.com site. It's addictive, looking through all the books and reading peoples comments on them. I have way too many on my to read list and I just signed up. I'm looking for the perfect 10 to 20 books. After many moves I want to find the few that I can enjoy the rest of my life, to always have the perfect book at hand no matter what mood I'm in or how small my living space is.

Something I forgot to mention about the goodreads site. You can win books. I just won Heiddeger and a Hippo Walk Through The Pearly Gates. I only put in for a few books on the giveaway list. This is a sequel to Plato and a Platypus Walk Into a Bar They are some sort of humorous introduction to various philosophers and their work.

I read a lot and I buy new books even when I should rather buy dinner... If the story is good I read everything, mostly fantasy and mysteries though I have to admit. When I really lose myself into a book I can easily just forget sleeping and read until I've finished the book or just fall asleep reading it.

The first real book I read was Pippi Longstocking and after that I never stopped. I still remember picking up the book in our school library.

I do the same thing with reading, I have to set timers or eat when I go out to lunch alone so that I have an idea of the time I am losing.

But it's never time lost when reading a good book! Though your boss probably don't think so.

I inspect houses, a lot of computer work, driving, and pictures. It's time consuming so that hour spent reading can be an hour of lost pay or less of a jump on the next day. Plus, I get lost i the world of the book I am reading.
